A section of residents of Bukedea district on Saturday stormed streets in protest of the death threats that are being inflicted on their District Woman MP who doubles as the Speaker-Anita Among.
Hon. Among told Parliament that there is a section of people who are planning her untimely death. Among said that she has got a detailed report on how people want her dead”
There is a report on an attempt to assassinate me, up to now I am still being followed,” she said
She did not however divulge the details of those behind her planned assassination.
“Whoever wants to assassinate Anita, let me inform you that I was put in this chair by God and I will serve until I get tired..” she said
In protest of this, the crowds on Saturday matched Bukedea Town Council and stormed Kolir sub-county Headquarters.
They said it’s unacceptable and they will not allow anyone olto harm their Speaker this is called the Pon government o increase her security.
DaParrot understands that Speaker Among has already directed the Prime Minister to present a report to Parliament on circumstances under which some Ugandans are being abducted, arrested and others assassinated.
