Dr. Emmanuel Diini Kisembo, the Executive Director of Bunyoro Kitara Youth Initiative for Development, who also contested for Buyaga East MP Seat on NRM ticket in the 2021 polls is seeking president Yoweri Museveni’s approval to allow him spearhead the collection of funds to enable in the construction of NRM Districts and City Offices countrywide.
Dr. Kisembo said that once approved, they will spearhead a nationwide mobilisation drive, that will see the raising of these funds
He in a press statement said that he on October 4, wrote a letter to The National Chairman of the National Resistance Movement (NRM) party, Gen. Yoweri Kaguta Museveni requesting him to,
“Allow me and a group of NRM members and leaders conduct a “nationwide mobilization and raising of funds and resources to build party offices in districts, municipalities and cities across the country,”
“In this event, on behalf of the team, I have also informed Our National Chairman that all the NRM party leaders at the District and Sub-County levels will be included,” he said
This, he said is to help the entire NRM, to be accountable and transparent with all the collections.
“The party offices, once completed, will help the Party and the Secretariat with the mobilisation and recruitment of new members,” he said
Dr Kisembo also contested for NRM’s CEC Member, Bunyoro Region, 2021 and as well contested to hold NRM flag for EALA, 2021.
According to Dr. Kisembo, the offices will also act as the Information and Resource Centre for the NRM Party.
He said this will make NRM distinct from the rest of other political parties. It will lessen the burden of looking for money to pay rent as it’s done today.
“Since last month, we have been in contact with the ONC in Kyambogo and we have been told that in the coming days, the National Chairman will guide, but most important to Okay this request,” he said
“We will as well hold similar events in foreign countries where the NRM party has got massive support and membership,” he added
Dr. Kisembo noted that his they will work together with the Party Secretariat under the able leadership of the Secretary General, Rt. Hon. Richard Todwong to ensure the party offices are built – primarily with the resources contributed by the members and wellwishers.
“All monies collected will be banked in the Party’s bank account,” he said
