Gen. Mugisha Muntu-led Alliance for National Transformation (ANT) has said that they learned about the exit of Hon Paul Mwiru to the National Unity Platform (NUP) in the press.
Mwiru who lost the Jinja MP polls yesterday crossed to NUP in a ceremonious event that was officiated by NUP party president Robert Kyagulanyi.
In a statement today, Alaso Alice Asianut, the ANT Ag National coordinator said that Mwiru didn’t notify in writing.
“Hon Mwiru has been in the top decision-making organ of the Alliance for National Transformation, where he has played a significant role in Party growth. His input will definitely be missed,” reads part of the statement.
He said the party nonetheless wishes Paul well in his next political home.
“At the Alliance for National Transformation, we continue with the painstaking and deliberate process of developing and deploying values-based leaders – men and women of conviction towards the change of political culture in Uganda,” the statement adds
ANT, she said will continue working with other political parties, organizations, well-meaning individuals, and stakeholders to bring about a meaningful Transition in Uganda.
