UPC's Fred Ebil lost the polls despite Museveni's endorsement

Fred Ebil from the Uganda People’s Congress (UPC) party was among the 19 candidates that lost the East African Legislative Assembly Polls on Thursday.

The polls attracted 28 candidates with NRM fronting 6, UPC, FDC JEEMA, and DP fronting one candidate each, and the rest coming as independents.

Ebil was among the opposition candidates, who were expected to pass with flying colors because his party is in special agreement with the ruling NRM government.

NRM’s top Central Executive Committee last week endorsed its six candidates and two opposition candidates including Ebil and Gerald Siranda of the Democratic party.
