Her Journey to Hell

In addition to failing to service the Shs8 million loan from Finca Bank after the two-year lockdown, Nabulya’s father Lul Kigozi also failed to raise school fees so that his daughter could finish up her secondary studies at St Charles Secondary School Lubaga.

“Her dream is to become a midwife but I don’t have money as a family we resolved that she goes to the Middle East and work as a maid for two years and she returns and then completes her studies,” he said

On February 7, Nabulya, who had completed all the necessary requirements traveled to Saudi Arabia. From the WhatsApp conversation, she says that she was given a contract to sign on arrival, but the majority of its content is in the Arabic language which she doesn’t understand.

Suffering

According to Namusisi, her daughter sent home Shs600000 as part of the salary for her one month which ended in March but since then the only thing she hears is suffering, cries, and regrets.”

She was meant to get Shs900,000 but because she had broken a blender, the cut part of her salary to replace it. One day while at home, my daughter told me that a certain man who happens to be a relative of that family visited them and started staying with them and that’s when she started suffering,” she said

“That man started bolstering, sexually harassing her until when he RAPED her. She told me everything I advised her to go to the recruitment office which she did,”

The Office, in her words Nabulya said kept her for two days and deceived her that they had given her another house only to realize that it was the same family.

“I just changed houses and in fact, I was brought into the home of the RAPIST I am suffering I hardly eat food, drink, and the man every time attempts to repeat his shameless sinful act of raping me,” she cried via phone,

Since Monday last week, Nabulya has been subjected to forceful house arrest accompanied by a lot of suffering.

On realizing that their daughter’s life might be lost in this manner, Namusisi went to Streapa International Uganda Ltd lodged a complaint and demanded the return of her daughter.

“These started working on it but the main problem is the Saudi-based company which is playing on our head they don’t want to release my daughter, they call her their property,” she said.

Nabulya told DaParrot that Streapa International Uganda Ltd was closed by the government during the course of the struggle which puts her daughter’s life in dire danger.

Mugabi told DaParrot that Streapa International Uganda Ltd should do the needful and bring help to Nabulya without fail “It is fully licensed. I see their company name on the current list. But that’s not an excuse not to help a worker in distress,” he said.

When we contacted Emma one of the alleged Directors of the Company, he said that Namusisi should go to their Office but after asking him about his statement on the closure of the company, he exclaimed and hang off the phone.
