The government has assured all Ugandans that their security is safe and guaranteed amidst bomb threats taking place in the country.

While speaking to journalists on Thursday at the Uganda Media Center (UMC), Minister of Information and National Guidance Dr. Chris Baryomunsi said Much as the Tuesday twin bomb incident is regrettable, Ugandans should not live in panic as security and intelligence agencies are on top of the situation of dealing with all terror attacks.

We would like to assure Ugandans and to assure everybody that Uganda is safe. Yes, these incidences happened, but the security and intelligence services are on top of the situation,” he said.

Baryomunsi has also assured the international community especially tourists who want to come and visit Uganda that Uganda as a country is safe and so they should not hesitate to come and visit it.

We want to assure Ugandans and our visitors that Uganda is secure from corner to corner. There is no need for a tourist to cancel his or her travel to Uganda,” he said.

However we must remain vigilant and alert. Should you suspect that someone near you could be a terrorist, inform the security officers immediately,” he added.
