Lt. Gen. Chol Thon J. Balok, the Deputy Minister of Defense and Veteran Affairs in the Republic of South Sudan, has lauded the education system of Uganda, which he said is of high quality and giving knowledge to not only East Africa but the entire world.
“I would like to say that Uganda is a neighboring country to S. Sudan and is one of the best countries in education,” he said.
Lt Gen. Balok made these remarks, after her daughter Jackline Aben graduated with a first class degree in Civil Engineering at Ndejje University on Friday.He congratulated his daughter, whom he said have passed through a lot to attain this degree.


“I congratulate my daughter who has been able to attain a degree in Civil Engineering here, it was not easy for her to be here, she lost her mother last year, and we encouraged her to continue,” he said
“I congratulate everybody who graduated here at this University from PHD to Diploma for the job weldone, I also congratulate the University for the great job, they are doing regardless of the situation especially 2019,”
Aben was among the 1937 Graduands who attained their degrees, diplomas, Masters and PHDs. 1134 of these were male and the rest female.Aben attributed her victory to hardwork, resilience and being focused.
Speaking at the function, Dr. Chris Baryomunsi the Minister of ICT and National Guidance advised Graduands to remain focused and desist from taking corruption.
“Government jobs can’t assume all of you but use these skills you have attained to start your own jobs,” he said.
