Kituuma Rusoke the police spokes person highlighted that On August 26, a joint operation by the Kira police and the Uganda People’s Defence Force (UPDF) targeted criminal hideouts in several areas, including Kigambo in Mbalwa, Nsawo Zone, Kumusenyu in Lukadde Kyaliwajjala, and Buwate.
According to Rusoke, the operation resulted in the arrest of 63 individuals, many of whom were caught smoking opium.
“Following a screening process, 51 suspects were charged with opium possession and remanded after appearing in court, while 12 others were cautioned,” he highlighted.

A search of Ssemulyaba’s residence uncovered bloodstains and a hammer stained with blood, leading to his arrest on suspicion of involvement in his brother’s death.
