Ps Ggoobi: Africa’s Macroeconomics recovery must address Climate Change

The Ministry of Finance Permanent Secretary and Secretary to the Treasury Ramathan Ggoobi, has said that Africa’s Macroeconomic recovery must have the ability to address Climate change issues.

Macroeconomics recovery and stimulus packages in Africa must as a matter of principle integrate measures to address environmental and climate issues to spur green, resilient, and inclusive growth with jobs,” said Ggoobi.

Ggoobi made the remarks as Uganda showcased its approach to Green Recovery at the 2021 Africa Climate Week where experts,decision-makers, and stakeholders discussed how Uganda is implementing its stimulus program to address the economic consequences of the COVID19 and Climate crisis.

The Africa Climate Week 2021 discussions focussed on exploring climate challenges and opportunities, accelerating collaboration, and integrating climate action into global pandemic recovery.
