Police release full list of traffic offenders

Police has on Monday 8, released a full list containing details of Number plates and details of where the traffic offense was committe
The list containing over 143 victims placed Mukono, Ntinda and Jinja Rd and Namagunga among the major hotspots in carrying out these offenses

Speaking during their weekly presser at the police headquarters in Naguru, to the Spokesperson Police Traffic derectorate Faridah Nampiima noted that through their cameras, they had managed to trace different

She noted that the list contained violators of traffic laws and regulations in various locations and that they have been charged accordingly therefore advised to report to the nearest police station and pick up your EPS tickets for the various offences.

We shall continue using the cameras to take action on Traffic violators and update
you accordingly she noted Adding that incase where the offender had just borrowed the vehicle then they had full details of the date, time , place of offense , road,offense , car make , number plate , vehicle color among others that could help find the real culprit

By the end of July a total number of 38,771 traffic offenders had been arrested and issued with EPS tickets on various traffic offences at various check points in the whole country

A total of 328 accidents were also registered during the same month including 62 which were fatal accidents, 180 serious and 86 were minor of these 355 were accident victims during and out of these 89 people died & 266 sustained injuries
The strategy therefore aims at naming and shaming the road users with the goal reducing on road accidents
