Police arrest three for vandalism and theft at government quarantine center

Police have arrested three individuals in connection with vandalism and theft at the Government Holding and Quarantine Production Center in Nakapiripiriti District.

According to ASP Kituuma Rusoke, the police spokesperson, the incident was reported on January 29, involving suspects Angela Francis, Lomokol Jeremiah, and Losike Paul. The trio allegedly damaged property and stole various items, including barbed wire, dip chain links, dipsticks, and jerrycans.

“With assistance from the Internal Security Organization (ISO), intelligence was shared with local leaders and the Officer in Charge of Namalu Police Station. Upon visiting the scene, officers encountered a motorcycle carrying the suspects and pursued them. The suspects were later apprehended at a scrap dealer’s residence with stolen barbed wire and other metal items,” Kituuma stated.

Police further revealed that multiple items from the facility were vandalized, including water pipes, storage tanks, and window panes. The suspects remain in police custody as investigations continue.
