Opposition members of Parliament who make up the shadow cabinet and Opposition whips shall meet today to decide on their fate of boycotting plenaries at parliament.
Last week MPs from the National Unity Platform boycotted the plenary demanding their fellow legislators Allan Ssewanyana of Makindye West and Muhamada Ssegirinya of Kawempe North to be produced Courts of law.
The dual had been re-arrested following their release of Bail in cases where they are charged for masterminding part of the Masaka recent killings.
The Shadow Minister of Information and Anti-corruption, Hon Joyce Bagala revealed on Monday that the final decision was to be made today during the shadow cabinet’s meeting.
”We know that many Ugandans are asking about the opposition boycott and when it’s going to end but this is something I can not tell you right now because the Shadow cabinet is going to sit tomorrow and those are the matters were going to discuss,” she said adding,
“We will tell the public whether or not we are lifting the boycott. What we want for our colleagues and the rest of Ugandans is a fair trial, we want justice for everyone and that is what we are still pursuing so whatever comes of the shadow cabinet meeting tomorrow, we will be able to communicate to the public.” She revealed on Monday
