Photos: Ugandan Missions Heed to Minister Jeje Odongo’s Call, Set to Participate in Tomorrow’s Rotary Cancer Run

A section of Uganda Missions across the world is to participate in Rotary’s Cancer Run which is slated to take place tomorrow at Kololo Ceremonial grounds.

The Run will be flagged off by Dr. Jennifer Jones, the President of Rotary International who jetted into Uganda on Wednesday for her 7-day Imagine Impact Tour.

Dignitaries from the government are also expected to grace the run which is aimed at raising funds to eradicate Cancer from Uganda.

Hon. Gen. Odongo Jeje Abubakhar, the Minister of Foreign Affairs, while handing over the Running Kit Consignment to the High Commission of Rwanda on Thursday, rallied Ugandans living in the diaspora to join the 11th Edition of the Rotary cancer run.

  Hon. Odongo, who expressed gratitude for the overwhelming support received from the Uganda Mission and the Ugandan diaspora in Kigali in support of this Noble cause, said that its paramount for Ugandans living in diaspora to participate in this run.

Two days later, different Ugandan missions have expressed optimism to take part in the run .

Among these is the Staff of the Embassy of the Republic of Uganda in Denmark who have also got their kits already.

Staff and leadership of the High Commission of the Republic of Uganda in India will also take part in the run.

 This year marks the 11th Edition of the Rotary Cancer Run in Uganda, an annual event organized since 2012 by Rotarians to raise funds for a one-stop cancer screening and treatment Center at Nsambya Hospital- Kampala.

The staff of Embassy of the Republic of Uganda in Burundi will also participate in the run,

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs is yet to release a full list of Ugandan Missions which shall participate in the run.

The Embassy of Uganda in Sudan, led by the Staff of the Embassy of the Republic of Uganda in the Sudan (pictured below) are also set to participate in the forthcoming RotaryCancerRun22 with Ugandans and well wishers in Khartoum in support of this cause.
