Over 1.2 Million Candidates Register for 2022 National Examinations

A total of 1,279,962 candidates have registered to sit this year’s national examinations, Dan Odongo, the Executive Secretary of the Uganda National Examination Board (UNEB) has revealed.

Of these, 97,936 registered for the Uganda Advanced Certificate of Education (UACE), 832,702 for Primary Leaving Examination (PLE), and the rest for the Uganda Certificate of Education (UCE).

Odongo said in the Friday press statement that highlighted that 56%, which translates to 715,360 candidates out of 1,279,962 registered candidates are funded by the government.

“As of closure, 647,821 candidates which constitute 51% of the total sum were females while 632,134 with a percentage of 49% were the male candidates that registered for this year’s exams at all the three levels” Odongo added.

UNEB also assured that soon it will be able to inform all students and parents how they can access their status of registration and this will be either by messages (SMS) or by posting the candidate register at districts headquarters and schools.

As per the UNEB timetable, Uganda Certificate Examinations candidates will be fast to sit for their examinations on the 14th of October-November 9th followed by the Primary leaving Examinations on 7-9th November, and then finally the Advanced Certificate Examinations on 18th November-9th December 2022.
