Officers from Uganda Police Force and Kampala Capital City Authority (KCCA) have today Monday, September 19, kicked off the operation to deter all unregistered Boda-Boda Riders from entering Kampala City.

All over the entrance of the City, officers including military police have been seen manning the operation including bad driving.

Among the victims of bad driving is ICT State Minister Hon Joyce Ssebugwawo who was netted around Mulago roundabout for driving one way.

For Boda-Bodas, Kampala Metropolitan Minister Hon. Minsa Kabanda on Friday told reporters that they only registered 35000 riders who will be allowed in the City starting today.

She however received a warning from Gen. Muhoozi Kainerugaba (MK) Winners Boda boda Project who said that they will enter despite the ban.

The MK project patron in Kampala metropolitan area Faizo Juma Kiirya told the journalists that they are not against the exercise but stopping it is done in bad faith because everyday people buy boda boda so this will see many missing out to join the industry.

Kirya adds that many youths with MK projects boda have missed out on registration because they have just received their motorcycles and are not registered which means they are not going to work in Kampala yet the initiator of the project wants youths to get jobs in Kampala.
