There is a looming fight between the residents of Zesui and Sebelle Cells in Mukhubu Ward in Mbale City and the Mbale Regional management of the National Water and Sewerage Corporation (NWSC).
The disagreement has bred from Boundary Opening, where residents accuse NWSC of trying to grab their land.
On Wednesday, officials from NWSC National together with the City Authorities led by the Resident City Commissioner Mbale Ahamada Washaki and the City Clerk Mbale Ocen held a meeting that was bitter.
The Residents Accused the government of surveying their land by force which forced them to go to Court in a case they were declared winners but until now they have been paid their damages.
Residents also accused the National Water and Sewage Cooperation of forcefully surveying their land without their consent.
They are now demanding compensation before any action is done on the said land. They believe the boundary opening is a trick by National Water to take their land.
The RCC tried to convince the Residents to accept the boundary opening but they declined to accept.
He assured the residents that Government needs to open the Boundaries in order to establish the number of affected persons as Government prepares to compensate them after valuation.
After long discussions between the parties, it was agreed that the two cells for a committee of 10 people, 5 from each Ward will ably represent the interests of the people on the round table.
