Mbale: Two family members dead, one admitted after suspecting poison

Police in Mbale City is investigating circumstances under which two family members were found dead and one survived and was rushed to hospital over suspected eating of poison.

According to Baluka Beatrice the landlady of the deceased in Busajjabwakuba A cell, the family members are suspected to have been poisoned. 

Beatrice added that these people have stayed there, for now, three months, living a happy life but we’re still surprised what killed them. 

Kiwumile Muzamiru chairman LC1 Busajjabwakuba A cell Afya ward Mbale Northern city division narrates that this morning around 6 AM I received the information about the death of two people in my area. 

Muzamiru said, after reaching the scene he found out that Ibra from Sironko district and a businessman operating in Kikindu market, and his 2year old son are dead and the wife was rushed to Mbale regional hospital in critical conditions for treatment.

Mbale Northern city division speaker Hussein Kadimba, says that they are suspecting of poison.

Kadimba condemned the act and asked police to do investigations and if those who did this are known let them get serious punishment. 

Elgon region police spokesperson Rogers Taitika says that it’s unfortunate they registered the death of two family members in Busajjabwakuba A Cell in Mbale Northern city division.

Taitika identified the deceased as Ibrahim Wagogo 25years old, a son of two years only identified as Mubarak and the wife whose name is not captured yet is in Mbale regional hospital.

“Personal safety must be taken seriously, you should be mindful of what you eat,” he noted 

The body of the deceased is in Mbale City mortuary pending a postmortem.
