Three people perished in the house fire in Wabomba cell Nakaloke Town council Northern City division Mbale city.
The eyewitness says that a room in which they use to stock petrol in jerricans for sale caught fire and burnt three people dead who were inside beyond recognition and one survived but was rushed to hospital.
The Elgon region spokesperson Mr. Tatika Rogers confirmed the incident and told Bif that the three people who died are Sowed, Jamal and Buyinza.
The fourth one survived but was in critical condition and was rushed to Mbale City referral hospital for treatment. He added that the fire is suspected to have spread from a charcoal stove from a restaurant that was near the room where the four petrol dealers stock their fuel in jerricans.




“It’s illegal to stock fuel in unauthorized areas and as police, we appeal to the public to report such cases, and the bodies of those who perished were taken to Mbale city Mortuary for postmortem,” Taitika said.
