A second year student of Makerere University identifed as Emma Wamono, on Saturday drowned to death in a swimming pool at Mountain Inn Mbale.
The said Hotel located on majanga road opposite Cure hospital and belongs to Hon Nathan Nandala Mafabi the member of Parliament of Budadiri West.
According Freeman News Website, Emma left Kampala for Mbale for a 2 weeks holiday on February 4.
Upon reaching Mbale, the deceased together with his cousins decided to go for swimming.
“It is said that the cousins decided to go have a drink as Emma opted to enter the swimming pool,” Freeman News Website reported.
“After a couple of good hours, the cousins started looking for Emma but he wasn’t spotted anywhere at the hotel premises,” he added
The late is a son to Mr. Nakimesi Micheal, a national forestry officer in Mbale district.
Efforts to get comment from the Hotel management was futile as no one in the Hotel management was willing to speak about the incident.
Contacted for a comment, Rogers Taitija the Elgon Region Police Spokesperson told DaParrot that he had disperched a team to do an investigation.
“I am still consulting my team.and will give an official comment later,” he said
