Mbale Central Police Station (CPS) is holding a 29-year-old employee of Dfcu Bank for allegedly stealing over Shs40 million from the bank agents.

The suspect was identified as Claud Adicho, the Head Supervisor of Agents of the DFCU Bank Mbale branch.

Rogers Taitika, the Elgon region police spokesperson said that Adicho accessed the pin codes of some bank agents under unclear circumstances, which enabled him to wire Shs40m to his personal account.

Taitika said that Adicho’s arrest followed a complaint from one Rebecca Webomba reported the crime to police and action was taken to arrest him,

We have completed all necessary investigations and are ready to present the suspect to Courts of Law,” he said

He also cautioned banks agents to always keep their pin codes safely to avoid such scenarios.

Dfcu Bank was yet to respond to these allegations.
