The House of Bishops on Monday 3 elected the new Bishop of the Luweero Diocese
Rev. Canon Godfrey Kasana, a long-serving member of the ministry will be the fourth Bishop of the diocese having voted for him anonymously during the Bishop sitting at Kisoro on Monday
In a statement released by the Rev. Canon Captain William Ongeng, Provincial Secretary noted that Bishop Kasana will be consecrated and enthroned as Bishop on July 16 at St. Mark’s Cathedral, Luweero.
Canon Kasana was born on 11th January 1971 in Sekamuli, Wabinyinja, Bamunanika Sub-country, and was born again on 17th September 1996.
The Bishop earned his Bachelor of Divinity degree from Uganda Christianity University in 2009 and is currently working on a Master of Arts in Development Studies from Ndejje University. He has ordained a deacon in 2009 and made a Canon of St. Mark’s Cathedral, Luweero, in 2020.
According to the diocese, his exposure to the ministry was one of those that couldn’t just be looked at, and the Bishop had traveled extensively to, the ministry in the UK, Europe, India, and South Africa, and coordinated a number of international partnerships in Luweero Diocese and this an upper hand
The also adds that his ministry as a Lay Reader and that after he was ordained, he served in a variety of different pastoral and administrative positions, including Diocesan Youth Secretary, Parish Priest, Archdeacon, and Diocesan Director of Household and Community Transformation.
