The State House Anti Corruption Unit in partnership with Police has arraigned Lira district land officials for irregularly allocating and processing land titles on government land belonging to Lira district.

The suspects include the District staff surveyor, Opio Francis, the Natural Resources Officer Otuke Pabious, and Cartographer Ogwang Joel who while surveying government land in Lira allegedly left out part of the land.

They reportedly processed titles and allocated this land to individuals, including among others a relative Rebecca Atoo.

The Cartographer and Natural resources officers were arrested yesterday while the others are still at large.

They have been charged with abuse of office, fraudulent procurement of title, and conspiracy to defraud and remanded until September 28.
