Kuka Mudoma Jude Mike has been donning a royal gown with yellow stripes and no one has been complaining of it. The Mudoma faction should have understood that donning a royal gown with yellow stripes is a partisan gesture because cultural leaders in Uganda are supposed to be apolitical. All along I have been saying that Kuka Wagabyalire John Amram’s political colours would be known.

Now it is no secret that his favourite colour is blue. If we haven’t come out to criticize someone donning a royal gown with yellow stripes, then what moral authority do we have to condemn these people in blue?

The truth is that both Kuka Mudoma Jude Mike and Kuka Wagabyalire John Amram are politicians who shouldn’t be gazetted as cultural leaders.

Being partisan as a cultural leader contravenes the Constitution of the Republic of Uganda. We should, however, remember that Kuka Wagabyalire John Amram’s initial ambition was to become Chairman LC V Sironko District. His entry into cultural leadership was a tradeoff. The opposition politicians in Sironko promised Wagabyalire, “We shall lobby for you to become Umukuuka we Bamasaaba.

The Wagabyalire faction shouldn’t be underestimated. Much as they are in opposition, they are very close to the NRM. In fact, the opposition politicians in North Mbale are useful allies of the NRM.

Above all, when we go to Bumutoto cultural site for Imbalu celebrations, who is always carried shoulder-high? Obviously, it is the Honourable Nathan Nandala Mafabi.

Kampala knows Nandala Mafabi as the most influential politician in Bugisu Sub-region. He is currently the Chairman BCU. He has a lot of influence in North Mbale and in Mbale City. It isn’t surprising therefore that he might successfully lobby for Wagabyalire to be gazetted.

The Honourable Nathan Nandala Mafabi is a gifted and shrewd politician. Do you know why he is now less critical of the NRM? Do you know why he now speaks less than he used to do in the past? If you know you know. Much as Wagabyalire John Amram is partisan, he might end up as our Umukuuka III.

Several media houses are already compromised. If you support faction X, they can’t pick your phone calls; and if you support faction Y, they will ensure that you talk in every radio program. This happens in radio stations in both Mbale and Kampala. If you know you know. The struggle for the crown in Inzu Ya Masaaba has become tough.

Kuka Mudoma Jude Mike is a NRM person. That is fine. But who is he in history of the NRM? What is his political strength? Put on weighing scales against Honourable Nathan Nandala Mafabi, Nandala outweighs Kuka Mudoma Jude Mike thousands of times.

Currently, Nandala Mafabi is a very useful ally of the NRM. Therefore, who can the NRM listen to? Can the NRM listen to Kuka Mudoma Jude Mike or to Honourable Nathan Nandala Mafabi? Obviously, it is Nandala Mafabi who is listened to. It sounds strange but true.

Where was Kuka Mudoma when NRM lost in Sironko District? Where was Mudoma when NRM lost in Mbale City? Therefore, Kuka Mudoma is a liability to the NRM.
