Kenya Goes to Polls Today

Over 21.5 million Kenyans will throng over 60,000 polling stations across the country to vote for the Country’s next president.

The major race though there are more than four candidates is between the current vice president William Ruto and former Opposition leader Raila Odinga.

One of these will replace president Uhuru Kenyatta who has held the country’s helm since 2012.

Kenyatta has backed Odinga who has since joined hands with him after he (Odinga) lost the polls twice.

Ruto who has been the Country’s vice president aims at taking the sear to break the myth that only rich families should rule Kenya.

The Independent Electoral Commission yesterday announced that it had nullified elections of governors in states like Mombasa, and Kakamega among others due to Ballot cross-overs and misplacement of pictures.

It also announced that it had deployed 150,000 polling constables to ensure that the polls are well protected in a peaceful manner.
