Hon. Kabuye Kyofatogabye, the State Minister of Kampala Capital City has ordered the Lord Mayor Saalongo Erias Lukwago to immediately apologize to Gen. Caleb Akandwanaho alias Salim Saleh or face ghe consequences.
Lukwago and Gen. Saleh have been on cross roads, that started with Lukwago’s December 30, remarks where he said most of the government officials Including; Prime Minister, Vice President among others are bowiing for Gen. Saleh.
The Mayor who was among the group of opposition politicians who were stopped from holding the end of ywar prayer sais Gen Saleh also commands the security.
Gen. Saleh immediately responded with a letter to Lukwago, calling for the latter’s apologu or else he will cease supporting him.
A leaked letter that Gen Salim Saleh wrote to Lord Mayor Ssalongo Erias Lukwago ordering him to apologize over the allegations he stated that Gen Saleh is misusing power or else ‘withdraw political support he has been giving him has created panic in the opposition, revealing those protected by the ruling government.
“Am very offended about what you have said about me and the power that am misusing,” the letter reads in parts.
“I have withdrawn all the support I have been giving you in your fights (fights) until you apologize.” it adds.
Although Lukwago has since denied having any links with Gen. Saleh, Including suing New Vision for publishing lies, Kyofatogabye told reporters that should he (Lukwago) fail to apologize, he will face ot rough.
“The letter was very clear, he said he will withdraw the political assistance. This literally means that he has been supporting him and many others in opposition,” he said
He noted that Gen. Saleh is among the down to earth militants who have been silent on public matters.
“Another person whom they should not provoke is Gen. Nalweyiso,” he said.
