A total of 366 people died in road crashes in June, the police monthly report has revealed.
These resulted from 1,825 road crushes, where 995 were serious and 509 were minor. Of the 1,512 victims, 1,146 sustained injuries.
ASP Faridah Nampiima, the Spokesperson of the Traffic Police said that reminded all drivers that it’s only competent drivers with valid driver’s licenses that will be allowed on road.
“All drivers are reminded to drive on roads with a copy of a valid driving license to avoid inconveniences,” she said,
“The testing of buses (DE) and trailer (CE) classes have already commenced at IOV headquarters in Naguru. All vehicle owners are reminded to check the EPS status of their vehicles, and renew their PSV licenses and Third-party insurance before they are put on the road to avoid inconveniences,” she added
She reminded them to drive within the prescribed speed limits so that they have full control of their vehicles in case of any eventuality.
“People don’t take seriously the issue of transferring ownership of motor vehicles this, therefore, is a reminder to all motor vehicle owners to ensure the right records are reflected at all times,”
