The Uganda National Examination Board (UNEB) has reaffirmed the fact that there shall not be another time that Board will issue an
alternative paper in circumstances where a candidate has missed their final exams.

The update was revealed on Thursday following a meeting that was held between the UNEB officials and the Ministry Of Education And Sports
where it was agreed that 23 pupils from St. Christine Primary School in Kakumiro given an opportunity to resit their Mathematics Primary
Leaving Exams having missed their paper in unfortunate circumstances.

“It was agreed that considering the exceptional circumstances under which the vulnerable candidates missed their examinations, after
fulfilling all the requirements, the Board administers another Mathematics paper,” the statement reads in part.

Adding that, this however was a one-off undertaking and it shall not be treated as a precedent

The consultative meeting was chaired by Minister Janet K Museveni with the presence of UNEB officials and those from the Ministry Of
Education and Sports.

In this, it was also noted that the District Inspector of the School was thus required to report to UNEB offices for details on the arrangements for the administration of an alternative mathematics paper.
