Two Tuesday twin bombs along Parliamentary Avenue and Central Police Station (CPS) on Buganda road claimed the lives of seven people and left 37 others injured. According to police, three were suicide bombers, while others were Police Constable Kungu Amos, Basibe Ismail, Sande Christopher, and George Katana.
Delivering a statement on the bomb blasts to Members of Parliament on Thursday, Prime Minister Rt Honorable Robinah Nabbanja said that government will organize compassionate assistance to the families of the bereaved and survivors.
However, Solomon Silwany, the Bukooli Central legislator said that all the victims of the previous bomb explosions should also be considered which also include the Komamboga and Swift Bus blasts.
According to Silwany, people whose buildings were destroyed by the explosions should also be compensated.
Tororo South MP Frederick Angura asked Parliament to work on its emergency procedures. He said that after the Tuesday bombings, several MPs were stranded because there was no emergency plan.
The Deputy Speaker of Parliament Anita Among said that the Speaker will make a statement on Saturday.
