The latest tweet by Uganda’s tweeting Gen. Muhoozi Kainerugaba has lit a fire across the tweeter streets.
Muhoozi, in the tweet, described the M23 Rebels that are disturbing the neighboring DR Congo as peace fighters.
“As for M23, I think it is very, very dangerous for anybody to fight those brothers of ours. They are NOT terrorists! They are fighting for the rights of Tutsi in DRC,” he tweeted,
“For my Congolese brothers, I can make peace between you and your brothers M23. Peace is what we need! No matter the color, tribe, language, or religion! God bless East Africa! Muhoozi,”
His tweet has however generated heat where the majority of people are condemning it.
This has also attracted the attention of political leaders who said the tweet is too harsh.
“Hmmm! So, his (UPDF) Force is a reinforcement of M23?” asked Dr. Kizza Besigye the four times presidential candidate.
“Where does this leave @FelixUdps & his agreement with @KagutaMuseveni to deploy @updf_ in DRC?” he added.
Popular politician Charles Romushana immediately quote retweeted that,
“Muhoozi Kainerugaba drop that genocidal narrative. There are no Tutsi or Hutu Congolese. There are Congolese,”
This comes at a time when DR Congo is in looming war with Rwanda whom it accuses of supporting the rebels.
DRC last week ordered the Rwandan ambassador Vincent Karega from its country which made Rwanda put its army on borders with DRC on high alert.
