Frank Mawejje, the Chairperson of the Kampala Bodaboda Riders Association has pleaded with president Museveni to at least rethink and either fully lift or extend their curfew hours to a later period.

President Museveni while delivering his televised covid-19 address in Rwakitura last week reopened the full economy with an exception of Bodabodas, whom he said will be working from 5:30 am to 7 pm.

We plead with the president that the next time he addresses the nation he extends the curfew at least 10 pm,” Mawejje said.

Mawejje was speaking to DaParrot, during an exclusive interview on Monday, following the president’s speech.

Extending curfew hours will enable us to work amicably as the night economy will also be opened,” he said

He as well also mentioned the rush hours at the time when day scholars are returning from school, is the period when the law enforcers are on their necks which hinders their operations.

Mawejje estimates road accidents involving Bodabodas increased to 200,000 bodabodas operating in the City, all in the name of beating curfew.
