Two people have been confirmed dead after being electrocuted by electricity in Mubono village, Mukhuyu sub-county Namisindwa district.

The deceased include Munika Catherine 36 and her granddaughter Sofia Naume aged 7years.

It’s alleged that there was an illegal power connection and when heavy rainfall came, it caused the illegal wires to bend and the deceased came into contact with the naked wires hence killing them on spot.

Rogers Taitika the police spokesperson for the Elgon subregion cautioned the public always to avoid illegal power connections as it can lead to their death.

Bodies of the deceased have been taken to Mbale city mortuary for postmortem.
