Butaleja to spend over Ush 40Billion this Financial year

Butaleja district local government has passed a budget of over 40 billion Uganda shilling to facilitate all the programs for the 2022/2023 financial year.

The budget under the theme ‘’ Industrialization for inclusive growth, employment and wealth creation manifested through parish model’’ was presented by the secretary for finance, planning, and administration  Njosse Emanuel to the full council yesterday 26TH may at the district headquarters chambers.

Meanwhile, education and sports program took the lion’s share of the finances of over 18billion shillings followed by health with over 10 billion and management support services with the sum of over 7 billion shillings.

Hamira Yunusu the district speaker says that this year’s budget has been increased by 6 billion compared to that of last financial year by 6 billion which was 30 billion and that they are much sure that this money will take care of the programs as allocated in the budget.

Yunusu add that they prioritized health and education because the rate at which children are getting sick in Butaleja is worse and this prompted the council to focus on these two programs to keep the good health in the district.

Aidah Nichole the district minister for gender says that these two priority programs have got the capital projects to be constructed including the construction of a health center iii and salary.

Nichole thanked the government for the increment on their budget finances as compared to last year, she still urges the government to add more finances next year because much is still needed to be done to help the poor facilities in the district.

Nambozo Loyce Joyce the district Chief Administrative Officer says that the budget that has been implemented is legal and has been approved by the council adding that they still expect emergency funds to come so have hopes figures to rise from 40 to 45 billion.

Nambozo adds that they are to polish the priority areas and submit them to parliament for approval.
