William Wilberforce Kadhumbula Gabula Nadiope, the cultural leader of Busoga will Monday launch the education reforms in the region.
The public hearings will be conducted by the Education Policy Review Commission (EPRC) which is starting on Monday.
“EPRC is rolling out public hearings to all regions of Uganda in order to collect policy issues and recommendations for all levels of education and sports,” EPRC said in a statement
According to EPRC, the first regional public hearings will be launched in the Busoga region by His Royal Highness, the King of Busoga on Monday, September 12th, 2022 at 10 A.M at his Palace,” it adds.
Ms. Agnes Asulo, Communication Specialist at EPRC said in a statement that the Commission will visit several districts in Busoga in the week of September 12 and 16.
This she said is aimed at engaging leaders, educationists, public officials, civil society, foundations, religious and cultural bodies, and citizens on the formulation of a new policy for the sector, as well as inspecting some schools and institutions of learning.
“The Commission was inaugurated by the First Lady and Hon. Minister of Education and Sports in May 2021, to review the education and sports sector, and draft a new macro policy framework for education and sports for Uganda to replace the Government White Paper on Education of 1992,” she said
