Buganda Premier tips youths on patiently working for wealth

Buganda Prime Minister Charles Peter Mayiga has tipped university students to be patient and not rush for richness.

Mayiga made the remarks during the Nsibirwa annual lecture held at Makerere University CTF 2 auditorium in memory of the late Buganda Prime Minister (Katikkiro) Martin Luther Nsibirwa on Friday.

Mayiga says young people ought to work hard and be patient as they can’t become rich till they clock 50 years of age.

Everybody who wants to make a success of his/her life must work hard must work patiently. I usually tell young people you can’t become rich till you are 50,” Mayiga said.

Mayiga further says that it is after campus that one is expected to try out different things adding that by 30, one must have stabilized.

He adds one is only regarded as professional after 5 years of working and that it’s then that one can be experienced to make profits from his efforts.

The Nsibirwa annual lecture where Mayiga officiated as Chief Guest is part of the Makerere at 100 lecture series.

Martin Luther Nsibirwa was recognized for his efforts to ensure that Makerere University acquires over 300 acres of land on which it currently sits. It is alleged that this development is the reason behind the late Martin Luther Nsibirwa’s assassination.

Rhoda Nsibirwa Kalema, a daughter of the late Martin Luther Nsibirwa said by enabling Makerere University to acquire land, her father sacrificed his life.

In recognition and memorizing efforts of the late, Makerere University named one of its halls of residence Nsibirwa hall, after the late Katikkiro Martin Luther Nsibirwa.
