Professor Barnabas Nawangwe, the Vice Chancellor of Makerere University has demanded a public apology from Uganda Airlines CEO Jennifer Bamuturaki over her recent statements about the institution.

Nawangwe, who was addressing journalists on the sidelines of the official opening of the 2022 International Humanities Conference at Makerere University said that it was bad for Bamuturaki to say that her transcript has been misplaced by the University.

“I want her to tell us where she got her transcript then because she got them yesterday (Monday). It’s not true that we lost the papers of 1994 as she said,” he added.

Bamuturaki came to spotlight last week when she appeared before the Parliament Committee on Commission of Statutory Authority and State Enterprise (COSASE) and told it that she has never picked up her SWASA transcript since 1994.

This was during he probe where COSASE seeked to know how she got the job while not qualified.

Nawangwe said people should stop making such malicious statements while appearing in the public.
