Apptivate Africa, a leading provider of innovative HR payment solutions, has announced a strategic partnership with Glovo, a renowned multi-category app that connects customers, businesses, and riders to meet daily needs.

This collaboration aims to redefine employee benefits by enhancing flexibility and convenience across Kenya and Uganda.

With its mission to build the largest online marketplace, Glovo ensures customers have access to a wide range of services within minutes. The partnership with Apptivate underscores both companies’ commitment to transforming how employees access benefits, making it seamless and convenient.

Caroline Mutuku, General Manager for Glovo Kenya, described the partnership as a game-changer for businesses and employees.

“By integrating with Apptivate’s innovative voucher solutions, we are bringing greater flexibility and convenience to employees, enabling them to access their favorite restaurants, supermarkets, and essential services effortlessly,” Mutuku said.

Through this partnership, Apptivate’s M-Kula and M-Tuza clients will now be able to redeem their vouchers directly on the Glovo app, giving them more options for flexible spending.

Ivy Maingi, General Manager for Glovo Uganda, echoed this excitement, emphasizing the positive impact the collaboration will have on both customers and businesses in Uganda.

“With access to Glovo’s extensive network, Apptivate Africa’s clients can now enjoy a new level of choice and convenience,” said Maingi. “This partnership reflects our dedication to enhancing lives and supporting businesses across the country.”

Neil Ribeiro, CEO of Apptivate Africa, highlighted the significant milestone this partnership represents for both organizations.

“This collaboration with Glovo underscores our commitment to empowering employees with greater flexibility and convenience,” Ribeiro stated. “By expanding redemption options for our M-Kula and M-Tuza clients, we are enabling companies to provide innovative solutions tailored to the diverse needs of the modern workforce. Employees can now access essentials effortlessly, and companies can distribute vouchers with ease.”

Ribeiro also noted that the partnership sets a new standard in HR tech by converging with on-demand delivery to empower businesses, employees, and communities.

Glovo’s expansive network includes over 3,000 restaurant and retail partners across 12 Kenyan cities—such as Nairobi, Mombasa, Kisumu, Eldoret, and Nakuru—and nearly 1,000 partners across three Ugandan cities: Kampala, Entebbe, and Mukono.

By integrating with Glovo’s platform, Apptivate Africa strengthens its value proposition, enabling employees to use their vouchers for meals, groceries, and other essentials. This move reinforces the companies’ shared vision of enhancing employee experiences and supporting businesses with innovative, technology-driven solutions.

This partnership marks a transformative moment for both Apptivate Africa and Glovo as they continue to revolutionize the employee benefits landscape in East Africa.
