Alhaji Naduli Looses phone as political chaos floods son’s final send off

The Official send off of strong NRM critic Suleiman Jakana Naduli, son to former Minister Alhaji Abdul Naduli ensued into political chaos between NRM and NUP supporters.

The Chaos that elapsed when NUP supporters arrived at the funeral while they held placards with photos, names and messages demanding there colleagues that have continuously been ‘abducted.’

The situation at the Naduli’s ancestorial home at Kadunda village, Kapeeka sub-county, Nakaseke district deteriorated further when Kiryandongo Deputy Resident District Commissioner (RDC), Henry Ssebunya who then presided as the Master of Ceremonies tried to block some NUP legislators and Secretary General, David Lewis Rubongoya from addressing mourners. Also joined by NRM supporters led by a one Majambere further fueled the matter when they joined the RDC and started roughing up NUP supporters prompting other mourners to flee into banana and coffee plantations to avoid the chaos.

The deceased’s father Abdul Nadduli lost phone in the fracas as he was also being evacuated by his bodyguards for safety to await police’s restoration of order.

In the meantime, Sheikh Ramadhan Mulindwa, the Kadhi of Luwero district who had taken over the microphone to start the funeral couldn’t proceed due to tension which prompted Nakaseke District Police Commander, Ben Nuwamanya and his team to take over the funeral as several mourners started vacating the area.

Suleiman Jakana Nadduli, 37 breathed his last in the early morning hours of Monday while being rushed to a clinic in Wobulenzi town. His death comes a few weeks after his release from remand in prison over allegations of promoting sectarianism against the Banyakole on social media, a claim he dismissed.

His father, former Minister Abdul Nadduli, has since blamed the son’s death on his arrest shortly after undergoing an operation at Nsambya hospital following a nasty accident.
