2019 PLE Results of Over 3000 Pupils Given to Headteachers


The Kampala Capital City Authority has today handed over the Primary leaving examination slips of 3972 pupils to head teachers of various schools who sat for the 2019 exams.

For the past two weeks, KCCA has been under pressure from parents and pupils after the news was released indicating that their pupils’ slips got lost.

Slips are one of the requirements needed to enable students to register for UCE examinations.

While handing over these slips to head teachers of various schools, the executive director of the authority Dorothy Kisaka owned up to the mistake and apologized to parents, head teachers, and pupils for the unfortunate happening since it created anxiety, blame game, uncertainty, and stress.

She vowed never for such a mistake to happen again but she hesitated to reveal the real reason that caused the re-print of these slips.

Kisaka applauded Uganda National Examination Board for authorizing the reprinting of result slips.

It should be noted that a total of 30188 pupils were registered to sit for PLE from 409 schools in 2019 however results of 3972 pupils from 51 schools have been missing.

The director of education in KCCA Juliet Namuddu revealed that they spent 2500 to reprint 3972 slips meaning that they spent Shs 9.93m.

Speaking to various head teachers of various schools who were affected and have received these slips today applauded the authority for reprinting these slips since parents have been putting them under pressure.

Other schools that were affected include Makerere Primary School, Kisasi primary school, Kansanga primary school, Kabalagala Primary School, Kawempe Muslim Primary School, Gaba Demonstration primary school, and African child primary school among others.
